So, it's come to that point where it's inevitable to say that September is well and fully upon us, and most likely than not, you're probably gonna start school, college or even work pretty soon, maybe you even already started and whilst that's always the time where we get bombarded with ads about stationery and school supplies and office inspo and all that jazz, I think having a space that is completely you and for you in your home to come to is almostttt as important as buying all the things for school and work.
It doesn't have to be your bedroom - it could be your bathroom, or a tiny nook in your terrace or any place where you feel instantly warm and safe and all around better, and most definitely you don't have to spend a million bucks for it to feel like your home within home, your special place or however your best feel like calling it, sometimes I feel like just a change of bed covers or lighting a candle or moving furniture here and there - always with the supervision of an adult please! - really helps, just doing anything to "lift the spirits" of the place - I know that's a really weird way to call it, but it does feel like the energy changes!
For me, home is my bedroom, it's the cinnamon candle burning on the bedside table, it's the fuzzy hairy white ikea rug - the popular one you see in every aesthetic picture - and how good I feel when I rub my feet against it; it's how the sun filters in little horizontal lines and paint my bedroom peach in the afternoons, it's my warm blanket and it's my dog getting in bed with me and hearing him start scratching into the bed to fluff it out until he gets comfortable. Those are the moments where I truly feel at home, the moments that completely recharge me and fix my mindset, the moments and spaces where I can feel at peace and get enough motivation to tackle whatever the day throws at me.
How does your home within home look like? Let me know!
